Event fields

As explained in the introduction to events, declaring your event types to Webmarketer means describing the structure of the events Webmarketer will receive, by listing the fields sent for an event of that type.

Your event types can contain fields of four kinds:

  • Event fields Which collect information about the event itself (message, subject, and so on)
  • User fields Which identify the user and build up their profile (last name, first name, email, and so on)
  • Statistic fields Which bring values into your reports (revenue, number of products, time to signature, and so on)
  • State fields Which bring sales stages into your reports (moving to prospect, meeting, signed, and so on)

Adding a field to an event type in Webmarketer

Event fields

Event fields let you collect information about the event itself.

That is the case, for example, of a message or request subject field on a form: such fields let you characterize the request itself without saying anything general about the user (such as their name, email, and so on).

Information collected this way cannot be used in your reports, and is generally collected for debugging purposes or to analyze a single user's customer journey.
